Goodbye to the Bird

If you’ve been around a while, you know there used to be a little green bird on here by the name of Quill. He served as the mascot for the Fledgling Writers Community from the time we opened in 2018, for what was supposed to have been a one-off beginners writing event, until we made the tough decision—for many reasons—to shut down in mid-2020. Not only was Quill our beloved mascot, who willingly flew into many a photo with authors and volunteers, he was also a much needed buffer between me and others when I needed space. Quill is still around, he’s just keeping me company in a place of honor in my office.

Goodbye to the bird, hello to

CLeaRly Creative

One thing hasn’t changed … our commitment to offering information and resources of value to other writers.

But the time has come to say goodbye to the bird—no matter how cute he is—and hello to the CLeaRly Creative Writing Community. The change in name and our new website accompanies a new attitude of resilience and fortitude. As of yet, there are no events planned for 2024 but keep your eyes peeled for printables, resources, and other user-friendly writing tools. The CLeaRly Creative Writing Community picks up where the Fledgling Writers Community of Dallas/Fort Worth left off. But one thing about us hasn’t changed … our commitment to offering information and resources of value to other writers. Come along for the ride!
